Three years since heart attack

Just before the heart attack 6/24/2013

before the next stent procedure Feb. 2015

 This is June 2016

Three years ago today, on a day pretty much like today, I was scrubbing down my patio. Hot and sweaty, I went in to relax for a few. Felt a deep stabbing pain begin in the middle of my chest. It was mild at first and then became extreme. Talking with a friend on the phone who suggested and I agreed, I needed to dial 911. 45 minutes after calling, I had two stents placed in a couple of blocked arteries. I had suffered a Myocardial Infarction, "The Widow Maker". I spent a week in the hospital and was doing quite well for a few weeks. I was very fortunate at the time to have had family coming to stay when this happened. They stayed over several weeks while I got back on my feet. Then I believe another piece of plaque caused another 80% blockage. I struggled hard for about 1 1/2 years until another angiogram showed that blockage, and two new stents were installed. As a believer, I trusted God through it all and he kept me going. Had a lot of good folks praying for me through this ordeal as well. And, with Jesus, diet and exersize We were able to battle through to today. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to sing and being able to sing God's praise in choruses and hymns kept my spirits strong. There were moments when I would get low but singing and calling on Him pulled me up. On one occasion I cried out to God and he opened his word from the book of Isaiah to chapter 41 and verses 9 and 10.
9. I took you from the ends of the earth,
from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
The way this came to me was miraculous and I share it with some.
I was down to 160 pounds and growing weaker every day until those two new stents. With a heart healthy diet, the high praises of God in my mouth and daily exercise I'm doing well.

Some would say "lucky to be alive", I say I am truly blessed and I will keep on keepin on.
